I feel safer...not

Funny, I was just talking to a co-worker about this situation and predicted it would escalate.

Someone may need to dig up Reagan.

An American hero passes

Charles was a hero to some, an enigma to others and a freak to still others. I just know he made me laugh, always.

Parenthood aint all that

I was strumming through some random Blogs and crossed into a rash of really unhappy women who are trying to get pregnant and are having problems. Not to say the problem is theirs.

Ladies, if you are having trouble getting preggers, it is a SIGN! Stop trying and know you can live your life free of the burdens rug rats cause. I could list them, but it would take all night.

Go have some fun and if during all of that "fun" you get pregnant, then deal with it. If you have had problems, you may need to take the time off to rest up and just take things easy. If that fails, an early hysterectomy would resolve the issue completely. You will be free of the burden and free to just be happy. There are plenty of other people popping out kids to compensate, so don't beat yourself up. The human rat race will go on, belive me.

Take a load off, hit the gym, then relax. Nature always rights itself and we are part of that, with or without kids.

I knew it..

I'm bored

When did life get so boring? Maybe it's just me getting older and all of the annoying things people do don't bother me so much? I really find it mundane lately. I do things at work every day that make things better for other people, but that isn't satisfying me anymore.

I can't join the military again, too old now, so that option is out. I have considered getting a cape and cowl, but I am really not that crafty or deft. There are plenty of thugs around my neck of the woods and I do like giving them crap. I will probably get shot some day for it, but they had better get a head-shot. Or else they are going down with me.

I volunteer for things, like my friend Jenny’s new floor in her ultimately stinky bird room in the basement of her place. I can’t wait till that’s over. But I am missing something bigger, I know I am. I have this huge collection of music that no one here in the USA would recognize and I would love to share and promote that (legally). I would love to have my own radio show. It would kick ass.

Politics calls to me too. I have been asked to run for office by friends, and I could do that really well, but there are a few little skeletons in the closet that make that impossible (like you have none??, liar).

God, I am 44 years old and have had more jobs than anyone, my age, older or younger. I served in the Navy for 6 years working on Weapons Systems and 3 years after that supporting them as a contractor doing design work. Then cable testing on ships, then Navy training systems installation designs (all kinds of stuff, electrical/chill water/cabling/AC). Then I was thrown head first into secure network design and documentation.

I know more subject matter than anyone I have ever met. And I have no one talent, other than being able to deal well with people, customers. My travels and life have left me very intolerant of unfair situations, whether they are my own or a friend’s. By standing up for friends that are being treated unfair, I have alienated myself, but I am not complaining. I don’t really need friends who do not deserve the title.

Oh, I do digress. I guess if anyone out there has a radio shift that needs filling, send me a message.

More interesting (to me anyway) news.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/6691371.stm
Things are falling apart in the Ukraine. Um, any Government with a PM and a President would be prone to this..

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/6691691.stm
Yeah, they are coming!

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/6680279.stm
BBC had a guy who had never seen Star Wars comment on the movie. It's lengthy, but nerdly funny.

Sorry that I can't actually insert links, I tried and they appear to disappear. It might be an IE7 issue or just another crappy blog site. I will read the help files.

The Democrats buckle

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/6688973.stm

The sad thing is, I had to get the news from BBC! Ok, so the Dems are ever concerned over the Pubs brandishing the "they didn't support the troops" sword in 2008. Now they can't, I guess.

The Pubs are screwed anyway, from what I am hearing. All of the hardcore evangelist's don't like Rudy and he is #1 in the Polls. They are saying they will stay home in 2008. So the Dems should sweep into full control, yes? I doubt it, I might even vote for Rudy, he is really an Independent, not a Pub. Our system always has the notion to right itself, but it is a mess being split so closely in Congress. They should call it Regress, because they can't get much of anything done.

I find it funny that the Dems are completely ignoring their "word" (or promise) to not go crazy with investigations and hearings. It's been a maelstrom, but the Pubs had it coming. Still the Dems broke the promise, or OK, agreement.

I have only been able to view 1/2 of the Monica Goodling fiasco, but it looks like a total washout so far. All those Bloggers that bashed her have to eat a big steaming pile of Crow (get some salt). I love reading "facts" based on hear say. Dummies, and you who bought into that crap are no better than the 911 conspiracy theorists.

I almost died today

The Setup;

Most Tuesdays I have to drive to a location, maybe 4 miles away from my work, for meetings. It's not something I ever complain about, I like meeting with my customers.

Last night I left the windows in my car cracked open, to ventilate the stink from taking my Dog to the Vet.

The Event;

Around 9AM, I head out to my regularly scheduled meetings(s) and it's a real nice day, though my allergies are being hammered by the tree pollen. All in all, things are fine.

About 5 minutes from work, while in traffic, a rather large black fuzzy spider catches my eye as I pull up to a stop light. It was on the lower inside of the windsheild, all the way on the passengers side of the car. No problem, I thought. I will kill it when I get to my destination.

The light turns green and I am off. As I drive, the nasty spider has almost my full attention. How I haven't crashed yet is beyond me, maybe devine intervention. The little ugly black fuzzy bastard is maiking it's way quickly across the windshield toward the driver's side of the car. It passes right in front of my field of vision, I didn't even have to turn my head.

Still no crash, I am amazed. The little bugger heads up the windshield, now just inches from my face, right above and in front of my head, in the crease of the windshield and frame. I grabbed my notebook off the passenger seat and slammed it up into the crease and the spider seemed to dissapear. Nothing smooshed on the book or window. I had a small reprieve, no spider to be seen. So I drove on. I should have pulled over really.

Then, that little bastard reappeared just inches from where I thought I had smashed him, crawling up again and now almost directly over my head. I snagged the opportunity, with the bug out in the open and on a fairly flat surface, to grab the book again, and wail on it. the streak of black on the cover of my notebook told me that it was over.

It took a few seconds to locate the carcas of this beast, nestled in the crack at my window. I fully lowered the window and blew hard (have I mentioned I am driving during all of this??) and the dead body went over the edge and out of the car.

I made it to my meetings unscathed and unbitten, but a bit frazzled. I don't like spiders, except when I kill them.

New Blog site

I am finally moving! Bye bye My Space! I hated them anyway. I hope my readers there find their way here.
