Active Denial, Easier Than Tear Gas

A great way to get protesters to run away, microwave them. I bet if someone is holding a gun (or flag pole) would see that heat up really quick.

DOD tried to deploy these in Iraq/Afghanistan a year ago, but quickly (and quietly) removed them. I guess they took the time to dampen the effect (or strenghten it?), now it could be deployed right here in the US.

So where is this going?? The idea, is to be able to shoot a weapon to the other side of the world, and hit a target. It would pretty much eliminate the need of having a Navy, Airforce or Marines. If it can be perfected.

Hmm, $400 Million in fines in the US alone. No wonder they only handed out a 2% pay increase to employees this year. So glad to see BAE pays off fines with employee pay/benefits, no wonder their share price has been negative since 2007.

Kay Bailey Hutchison and John Cornyn are threatening to deny appointees because DOD chose the best fit to build their trucks. Oshkosh can certainly do it faster than BAE, and at the rate these things get blown up, it seems smart to me...

I Started The New Job Today

It went OK. My Birth Certificate has gone missing, so after turning over the entire house, I had to order a new one. $60 later, it should be here next week, CHRIST!!

I am sure the original will turn up any second now....

The offices are pretty crappy, but I have a window. :) In April, the whole building are moving to a location, that will cut my commute to about 10 minutes.

I met some people I had not seen since I worked there 15 years ago, which was very cool. We have all gotten old.

The guys I will be working with primarily, are both near retirement, so the clock is ticking on getting myself up to speed. It should be interesting to learn what exactly I will be doing, but I am really looking forward to seeing what improvements I can bring to the process. For once, that is my marching orders..so no fear of being sacked because I notice things can be done better.

A totally different environment than the Civilian Federal Government, it's like having a layer of bullshit lifted off your shoulders. I am home!
