France Needs Gas

The Labor Unions have cut off France's petrol supplies (even to the Paris Airport) because they are mad that the retirement age is being pushed from 60, to 62. Hey, they have wine that needs drinkin' and no time to waste workin'. We can only hope this should not impact the mimes hear the Eiffel tower.

About Those Gas Prices..

Forbes ran a story pointing to Goldman Sachs and others being at the center of it.

When oil prices started coming down, I remember hearing all these news stories about demand dropping too. But everyone I talked with didn't get it, they still drove as much as ever.

Gas To EU Resumes, For Now

This story has all the hallmarks of becoming a movie. It's gone on longer than anyone expected.

Yulia might be easy on the eyes, but I trust her about as much as my ex-wife, oh...that might be an over statement.

I Have Gas

So says Russia. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/7826142.stm

I was reading in Pravda (really, it's online)that Russia is the good guy and the bad guy is Ukraine. They need a mediator to sort this out, or much of Europe will freeze. I hope the EU is looking at different options for heating their homes, and no, I am not making a house fire joke...so stop it.

When you only hear one side of the story, it's pretty impossible to know what the real truth is, probably something in the middle of both sides.

Gazprom Cut's It Off

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/7806870.stm

Russia has cut the natural gas supply to their western neighbors and parts of Europe. I suppose they can hope for a mild winter?
