Ok, I get needing to do things "affordably", but paying a skilled/semi-skilled worker $14 an hour, equals less than $30K a year.  People can't live on that, even in/near Detroit.  Just a few dollars more would make a huge difference overall...  Come on, we know Americans are generally overpaid, but don't drive us into the ground so fast.
