http://inhofe.senate.gov Jimmy Inhofe is the poster child (stress the child part) by not even showing up for a Climate Bill markup. Um, he has nothing to add, so he and his buddies just skipped it. it's a ploy, that forces the chairman (Barbara Boxer, a woman) to invoke a rarely used majority rule to move forward. Jimmy's BIO quotes him as "also been a champion for restoring common sense and sound science to important environmental and regulatory issues like clean air mandates, wetlands, and endangered species." Yet he will not even sit at the table over a Climate bill???
It's about the most childish thing I have ever heard of. It these Pubs can't even sit in the room and offer ideas (stamp your little feet kids), they will be swept aside. Rightly so. The Senate Environment and Public Works Committee will proceed.
Am I the only person in the country who sees the Republican Party as being a total sell out to big business? The behaviour I mention above and the fact that the Pub healthcare reform bill, leaked today, was written completely by American Health Insurance?
