Meg Whitman Cuts 27,000 Jobs

http://www.sacbee.com/2012/05/23/4512014/hp-laying-off-27000-workers-in.html

Is this shocking?  No, she is just doing her part, like the rest of corporate America, to keep unemployment high.  It's all a ploy by Rebulicans to make sure President Obama is finished in 2012.  If you doubt this claim: Pick a company, look at their profits, and layoffs.  They don't jive for all of them, but overall it does.  It's a corporate conspiracy that we don't have laws for.

The bad news for Republicans is, it won't work.

US Unemployment History

This graph documents the data from the end of the Reagan era, till today (with notation).

The blue circle at the right is the "Obama Stimulus" passing. It took three months before the effects are realized, but it is certainly not a "failed" effort. Look at the trend line we were on before it passed? That red line stretches to a full global depression.

I had real concern when I heard the size of the Stimulus package, but as of now, I totally see it kept the entire economy from imploding. Now it's time to attack the National Debt! Cut and Tax, starting in 2013..

A side note, when the Obama Administration said they hoped the stimulus would keep unemployment below 8.5%, we were already above 8.5% (data lag time). No one believed it was really that bad, including Dick Cheney, George Bush and Carl Rove.

Unemployment Extensions = Cut

I can't say I disagree with this. People will start scurrying to get jobs, of any kind. It would be easier if we had deeper rules in place on hiring illegals.

See this about those illegals: They are still coming...

Jobs Finally Start A Comeback

114,000 Jobs, plus another 48,000 for the Census going on. Good deal, I will take 114K growth any month. The end of a 3 year train wreck and start back to prosperity.

Even though John Bo[eh]ner calls this a "failure", there are 114,000 people out there (seasonally adjusted) that are happy as hell. Another 114,000+ family members of the newly employed are also very gratified.

I would guess some 2000 small businesses are happy, because they just had an up-tick in customer purchases (gas stations, grocers, local mall). I would estimate 8-10 Insurance Companies just picked up a total of 50,000 paying customers too.

There are probably a few thousand (or more) Mortgages that won't fail, which eases the burden on multiple agencies. A bonus to private and government lenders. Probably the same number of car loans saved too.

It's a start that should signal some optimism and hope, not the same old mantra of failure.

Jim Bunning - Asshole Or Angel?

"You throw a breaking ball like this."

http://congress.blogs.foxnews.com/2010/02/26/bunning-office-phones-ringing-off-the-hook/

This fuckhead has been bouncing around Congress for over 20 years, and I have NEVER hear of him until today. Yep, today he decided to grow a pair of balls worthy of a slider and curve ball to end the ninth inning (he used to be a pitcher, get jokes?).

I expect some 15+ Million people in the US (over 630K in his home state) are going to be asking Jim, next week, what the fuck dude? That's how many people will be on the street without a crutch, Unemployment and Cobra Benefits are over. How can one person decide this? Um, thank the Senate for perverting our Constitution to the point of lunacy.

Frankly, I have to admire the move. The US is broke and Jim knows it. Jim has been part of the problem that got us RIGHT here, now he seems to feel guilty. I expect the old white haired guy (one of oh so many) will not run for re-election and go enjoy spending all of that cash he piled up in his 24 years in Congress.

I won't be here to see it, but in 10 years, all these old white guys (both in Congress and across the south) will all be dead. Their legacy and racist dreams will die right along with them. You heard the concern at the Tea Party Convention? "We don't have enough handicapped parking spaces!" Tic Tic Tic...

John Boehner Is Out Of Touch

He's not gone to Argentina, he is just out of touch with reality;

http://johnboehner.house.gov/News/DocumentSingle.aspx?DocumentID=158409

Um, someone should tell John that this is the biggest drop in the Unemployment Rate since September 2006. Dummy, what a boner.

You Think Unemployment Is Bad In The US??

In Spain, it is at 17%. I guess we in the US should say "sorry". The whole world is blaming us for their bad investments anyway.
