The Health Care Debate

Tomorrow morning, the US will get a gift, a little bit early.

  1. I'm sorry; was there a debate? I feel America has had 'public healthcare' shoved down its proverbial throat by a man who truly wishes to leave a mark on History. Bankrupting what was the most prosperous State in the world should look good in the books, eh? Of course, that's not what the books will say. Our brain-washed kids will learn only how benevolently this President has acted on behalf of those who don't pay taxes, or are in this country illegally. Watch out America, the floodgates of your Treasury are opening, and you're footing the bill! I guess we could try to convince the Chinese (you know, the communists who made all of your Christmas decorations and gifts) to take on some more of our debt. Time to learn a new language kiddies! I suggest Mandarin. Don't get me wrong, the private-sector health care system is far from perfect. But if you think socialized medicine is the answer, consider the poor bloke from Canada who finally had his cancer surgery scheduled - AFTER he'd died of the disease. And is it just that people who spend most of a decade of their lives in school and in training should make as much money as today's doctors do? Not to worry, that's balanced out by a legal system that allows people to sue for millions if the surgeon looks at them sideways. Want to know why American health care is so expensive? Check out all the malpractice lawyers selling their services on TV today. Okay, that's not fair. A real part of the reason American health care is so expensive is because it tends to be the BEST in the world. Why else would so many leaders from around the globe come to the USA to be treated, or have US doctors as 'guest surgeons' in their capitols' hospitals? I believe the best solution to pay for public health care would be to put a special 'SUPPORT' box on everyone's income tax form. If you're for it, just check the box, and the government will automatically deduct an extra 10% from your wages to cover health care for all the people who don't pay taxes. Now that sounds fair to me!
