I kept hearing about this guy’s “Revolution”, so I figured I would do a little research.
His site http://www.ronpaul2008.com/about/ states he left office “voluntarily” in 1984, but fails to mention he had no chance of winning his House seat again, so decided to run for the Senate and lost there too.
So I went to look at his voting record and he is definitely a Republican. http://www.vote-smart.org/voting_category.php?can_id=296
He voted against all of the Farm bills and the Endangered Species bills. He obviously doesn’t care about our world. Look at his voting record on Appropriations! He votes no for almost everything, except the Tobacco bill that would “prohibit the use of any funds appropriated in the bill to subsidize crop insurance for tobacco crops”, which I can actually agree with. But all the No’s and No Votes are baffling! What do you want us to spend our money on?
He is anti-gay, anti abortion, and didn’t even cast a vote on the last Defense Appropriations bill. Could that be construed as “not supporting our troops”?? He didn’t vote on the Energy bill either. Was he out of town or something? Busy making his bid for the White House, I suppose.
The first sentence on his web site is “Congressman Ron Paul is the leading advocate for freedom in our nation’s capital”, yet he voted against DC having a vote in the House, which I think is despicable, hypocritical and a purely political stance. He voted against the Campaign Finance Reform bill too, gotta keep those palms greased, right?
He’s a slicky boy, but not really a boy anymore, he’s old. He and his “revolution” will get pummeled and hopefully he will lose his House seat in the process. And if he grew up in PA, why is he representing TX??
